AI at Tiva
At Tiva, AI is a tool. Responsibility and judgment stay with people. This page explains what I use AI for, what I don’t use it for, who is responsible for what, and how I review AI drafts.
Who does what?
- I (Kirsten Rieger, Tiva) develop and configure the Tiva tools and the Learning Lab pages. I prepare materials, review them and make them available. I take responsibility for content I publish myself or pass on to teachers and learners.
- The AI models come from OpenAI and Anthropic. I did not develop them and cannot influence how they work internally. The Tiva tools currently run as an extension in ChatGPT.
- Teachers decide what goes into their classroom. They see every material beforehand, can change anything, and only share the learning page with the class once they are happy with it.
- Schools decide whether and how to use AI tools and inform their learners and guardians about it.
Where I use AI
- Learning Lab: drafts for lesson plans, board layouts, worksheets with answer keys and interactive learning pages. This content is created with AI support and carries a notice.
- Preparing learning materials (e.g. test plans, vocabulary lists): prepared with AI support, reviewed by me.
- Texts and design of this website: drafts with AI support, edited by me.
Where I do not use AI
- No data from the Study Space is sent to AI services.
- The learning profile comes from our conversations and is written by me.
- No automatic grading of student work and no automatic steering of learning paths by AI.
- No emotion recognition, whether through camera, voice or facial expression, or from text. It is prohibited in educational institutions under the EU AI Act, and I don’t want it either.
- No diagnoses. Academic coaching does not replace diagnostics or therapy.
How I review AI drafts
- Subject accuracy: I recalculate and check solutions, figures and terms.
- Fit: Grade level, school type and curriculum match the goal of the lesson.
- Sources and rights: I do not copy textbook pages or third-party recordings without permission.
- Language and tone: Clear, respectful, no labels for learners.
- Release: I pass on material only after my review. Teachers check it once more before use, with the answer view.
Even with these steps, mistakes can happen. If you notice something, write to grow@tiva.me and I will correct it promptly.
How I label
Learning pages, worksheets, answer sheets and lesson plans from the Learning Lab carry the notice “Created with AI support”. In chats with the Tiva tools, the notice appears right at the start. Images and audio that are fully AI-generated and could look real are labelled visibly.
My AI competence
From 2005 to 2026 I worked at Mercedes-Benz, most recently focused on data and AI, where I ran programs to strengthen data literacy and the use of AI. I keep my knowledge of AI, data protection and the EU AI Act up to date and document which AI tools I use for what.
- Industry-standard certification in Data, AI, IT Governance & Cybersecurity, EU & Global (09/2025)
Privacy
I don’t need any learner data to prepare lessons. Please do not enter students’ names or grades into AI tools. More in the privacy policy.
